The Heptameron was written by Marguerite of Navarre in the 16th century. Most of the tales consisted of love intrigues or comic misadventures. This volume has an introduction by AD Hope who noted that ‘the Heptameron was a book that spoke to his [Lindsay’s] intellect as well as to his senses and his sense of fun’.
